9th October festivity

We celebrate the festivity of 9th October in our school to commemorate the arrival of Jaume I to our town. Children dress up as Moors and Christians and we go around the town. This is the end of a week with plenty of activities related to Jaume I, the king that conquered the Valencian Community in the 13th century.

Some news about our students has been recently published in the Miragall (number 213). This local paper shows the winners of Premi Sambori 2009, as well as, the coming out of ‘La prova’, our students’ first short movie.
Alexis Merí and 3 years old class win Premi Sambori 2009
Alexis Merí Martí, pupil of 1st ESO, won Premi Sambori with his work ‘El drac Pep’. It is a fantastic story about a joker dragon with some well-known characters of the traditional children’s books. Alexis is a regular writer and this is not the first time he takes part in a literary contest.
On the other hand, the 3 years old class also won with a story called ‘Lila i la Flauta’. They explain the creative process: “It was Monday. When the 24 pupils were already in the classroom, we saw a letter on the table. We sat on the carpet and read it. We had to make up a short story. It was very exciting!”.
The students made up the story about Lila, a 3 years old girl who loves to live close to nature, and a flute.
In the elaboration of this tale, pupils used different techniques, such as plasticine and finger paint.
