The students of 6th of primary of the Hernández School present a new short film on Erasmus + mobility in Scotland.

The students of 6th of primary school have participated in a new mobility of the Erasmus + KA219 Project “Our lives, our stories” from 12 to 18 May. It is already 10 years of work in European Programs, 6 of which with Pollockshields Primary School in Glasgow, sharing the conviction of the need for the internationalization of the centers, as well as multiculturalism with an enriching tool for learning.

Within the framework of this mobility Erasmus +, the students and teachers of the Hernández College received the visit of Rubén Trenzano Juan, General Director of Language Policy and Management of Multilingualism, and Josepa Sonia Pérez Ortuño, Head of the Language Service and European Programs, with which we shared our experiences in European Programs. In this way, we have been able to thank in person for the effort devoted to coordination by the Ministry of Education, which helps our educational community to grow in a global and multicultural environment.

The final product that emerged from this mobility has been a new short film in English and Valencian produced by students of 6th of primary school, which receives the title “I was here”. Engraved on the town’s landscapes such as La Font Amarga and acclimated in the Civil War, it tells the story of the Scottish brigadists who fought in the showdown. This short film has given us an in-depth look at the problem of refugees today, with Pollokshields Primary School becoming one of the reference centers in hosting this type of student.

In addition, this audiovisual work has been selected by the British Council and will be screened shortly to the annual conference for advisors and trainers in the city of Nottingham.
